Feedback & Feature Requests
podkit is a one-person project and I rely on hearing from the people who use it to build the right things. Whether you have a feature idea, a bug to report, or just want to tell me how you use your iPod — I’d love to hear from you.
Feature Requests
The best way to suggest a feature is through GitHub Discussions. Check the roadmap first — your idea might already be there and ready for your vote.
How to get involved
- Browse the roadmap — see what’s planned and find features you care about
- Vote on discussions — upvotes directly influence what I work on next
- Tell me your use case — this is the most helpful thing you can do. Even a short comment like “I keep my podcasts as local files and would love to sync them alongside my music” gives me real insight into how a feature should work
- Start a new discussion if your idea isn’t already listed
Why your input matters
I can guess at how features should work, but I’ll build something much better if I understand how you actually use your iPod and what your workflow looks like. Every piece of context helps — your setup, your frustrations, your wishlist, even the things that seem obvious to you. There’s no comment too small or too simple.
What makes a good feature request?
You don’t need to write a spec. Just tell me:
- What you’d like — in your own words
- Why it matters to you — what’s your situation? What would this unlock for you?
- How you’d imagine it working — totally optional, but if you have thoughts I’d love to hear them
Bug Reports
Found something broken? Open an issue on GitHub with:
- What you expected to happen
- What actually happened
- Steps to reproduce
- Your environment (OS, podkit version, iPod model)
Questions and Help
Stuck on something or not sure how to set things up?
- Check the Troubleshooting docs
- Ask in GitHub Discussions (Q&A) — no question is too basic
